While the saying goes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, for many people (myself included), your first sip of coffee is the most important part of the morning.
We all have our preferences on black versus cream and sugar, hot coffee versus iced or cold brew, but unifying caffeine-addicts the world over is a love of a quality coffee bean.
Recently I spoke with Paul Toscano, chief marketing officer of Joyride Coffee, a company that specializes in cold brew kegs. I asked him some questions about the coffee business, specifically where he thought the best coffee in the world was coming from right now.
“In my mind, the best coffee is generally from Ethiopia, where coffee began,” Toscano told me. “There, of course, are some absolutely mind-blowing coffees from Latin America and other countries in Africa, but in my experience, Ethiopia's climate and coffee-growing culture are consistently bringing to market products that have an amazing natural flavor to them. Lightly roasted Ethiopian coffees are generally more tea-like and sweet, with notes of berries and other fruit that just sing through the cup.”
Coffee-wise, I myself am much more a fan than an expert; I love to drink a good cup of coffee, but when it comes to what to buy, I’m usually left guessing in the aisle of the grocery store. I assume I’m not alone in this front, so below we’ve collected some coffee options from Ethiopia that you can buy online. If you’ve been looking for a new bean to grind for your morning cup of Joe, consider giving one of these a try.
